On August 23, 2021, Dr.
Naveen Krishnan celebrated a tree planting festival with the villagers of
Sorathur. Dr. Ilangovan presided over the event and delivered a special address.
Dr. Naveen Krishnan conducted awareness programs for the public in Sorathur,
Thuraiyur village, on tree planting, explaining what agroforestry is, and the
benefits of growing trees. Free saplings were also distributed to the public as
part of this celebration.
