165th Programme:
On August 9, 2015, Dr. Naveen Krishnan, in
collaboration with the Thuraiyur Forest Department, conducted a snake bite
awareness program for the tribal communities in Pachamalai. Mr. Ravikrishnan,
Thuraiyur Forest Range Officer, presided over this event. Dr. Naveen Krishnan
explained in detail to the tribal people why snakes should not be killed, how
snakes are beneficial to humans, how to identify venomous and non-venomous
snakes, and what first aid to provide if bitten by a snake.
